About Us

Since 1985, QIC has been providing a quality service in commercial, industrial and mining roof and wall cladding. In February 2004, Drew Carruthers and Lachlan Pegler purchased the company and embarked on a program of expansion, whilst maintaining QIC’s reputation for quality workmanship and superior project management. QIC regularly employs around 20-25 roof plumbers and additional managerial and administrative staff. Projects are undertaken in numerous locations throughout the Australia-Asian-Pacific region.

  • Stage 1A & 1B for Thiess Black Veatch on the Bundamba Water recycling project near Ipswich.
  • Cannington Port Townsville Mineral store project with John Holland
  • Conveyor cladding for TSJV at Lake Lindsay
  • QIC was the inaugural winner of the MPAQ/Stramit Building Products "Roofing Installation of the Year", for the Orion Springfield Shopping Centre Project.

2006

  • Hail Creek Coal Mine Expansion with Thiess Sedgeman,
  • Zinc Filter and Storage Buildings in Mt Isa with Ahrens Construction
  • Springfield Orion Shopping Centre for Mirvac
  • Dreamworld Water Park Project with Watpac
  • Work commenced on the MRTT Airbus Hangars, LMU and HQ at Amberley Air Base with Leighton. This included considerable areas of CFC Cladding.
  • Stage II of the Oakey Abattoir with McNab Constructions
  • Two teams in the Innisfail district completed insurance repair work following Cyclone Larry

2005

  • The 112,000m² Woolworth’s Distribution Centre in Brisbane
  • CBA Browns Plains with Watpac Construction

Pre 2004

  • RAAF base in Townsville with Leighton Contractors
  • Catholic University at Banyo, Brisbane
  • 63,000m² of roof and wall cladding with Thiess at the Lavarack Army Barracks, Townsville
  • MIM Copper Refineries, Townsville
  • Century Mine Storage facility at Karumba, N. Qld
  • Bengalla Coal project in the Hunter Valley,
  • Mt Isa Mines lead concentrators re-roof.
  • Sun Metals Korea Zinc Refinery in Townsville.
  • In 1998, QIC exported fasteners and Roof Trolley systems to the Aluar Smelter Expansion Project in Argentina. Fastening systems as well as supervision were supplied to the Inco Nickel Mine Expansion, in Indonesia.
  • The largest contract undertaken to date has been an $A11.5 million project of 150,000m², with 100,000+ man hours of accident free work time at the Comalco Aluminium Smelter Boyne Island - Gladstone Qld from 1995 -1997
